How much security does a free society require?
And how much freedom is compatible with safety?
This year’s edition of LISTart explores these current and complex questions through a public art exhibition in the List district of Hanover, running from October 10 to 31, 2025.

Across numerous shop windows along Lister Meile and nearby streets, professional artists present their work directly in public space – accessible to everyone, integrated into daily life, and visible at all times.
The exhibition’s theme is "Freedom and Security" a tension that invites discussion on social, political, historical, and personal levels.

Visitors can expect a diverse exhibition featuring installations, conceptual works, and site-specific pieces that engage with the topic in a variety of ways from surveillance and privacy to environmental protection, psychological, and historical dimensions.

for the LISTart Art Prize 2025:

Public Voting:

The audience is invited to participate as well: From October 15 to 31, visitors can vote for their personal favorite.

The curator of LISTart 2025 is Michaela Hanemann, who is responsible for the artistic organization and management of the project as a cultural manager and artist.




This project is supported by Sparkasse Hannover and the Kulturbüro of the City of Hanover, in cooperation with art connecting Hannover e.V..
